Focus on aquaculture value chain at 2nd National Bangus Congress in the Philippines

The 2nd National Bangus Congress is set to be held from 27-28 September 2018 at the Iloilo Convention Centre, Iloilo City, the Philippines, focussing on the aquaculture value chain in the region

The Philippine Milkfish Industry Group (PhilMIG) announces the staging of the event with the theme “Harmonising Efforts Towards Achieving Domestic Food Security and a Stronger Global Presence.”

The aim of the Congress is to better understand the interplay of activities within the value chain of the aquaculture sub-sector, focusing on milkfish. These activities encompass pre-production, production, trade and market access, credit access and government policies and regulations.

With better understanding, via the different sessions, the conference aims to harmonise industry efforts in strengthening and building a stronger aquaculture value chain, for affordable and available fish, both in domestic and international markets.

The event will include:

· Fishpond and marine cage culture operators with their key personnel

· Research institutions

· Academe and fishery professionals

· Traders

· Logistics

· Distribution companies
