The Executive Group of the 970 Agricultural Connection Forum, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development held a forum themed, ‘Promoting agricultural, seafood and aquatic products between Vietnam and China (Guangxi)’

Sharing about Vietnam-China seafood trade in the new context, Nguyen Hoai Nam, deputy secretary general of the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), suggested that Vietnam should strengthen promotion of trade between businesses and localities in China. At the same time, Vietnam should support and promote the approval of dossiers for enterprises registering to export seafood to China. In particular, agencies need to update and provide information on the needs and regulations of the Chinese market and localities for Vietnamese businesses.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Tran Thanh Nam, asked the leaders of the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh province and relevant Chinese agencies to coordinate in organising a direct trade promotion forum in Dongxing (China) as soon as possible. The event enables businesses of the two countries to negotiate directly with each other and build supply chains for import and export of agricultural products.

According to Tran Thanh Nam, Vietnamese enterprises that want to export highly processed agricultural products to China need to send two documents at the same time to the authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Chinese customs.

He requested the executive team of the 970 Agricultural Connection Forum to consider establishing the Vietnam-China agro-fishery business club, a member of the Forum in order to connect and share information about agricultural market.
